CEMEVIE

Centre of Expertise in Modelling Emergent Value from Information and Expectation

Measuring value states across matter, information and living systems

CEMEVIE models the value state as a global, latent, probabilistic and dynamic state arising from the superposition and coupled evolution of available information and expectation—the anticipatory potential that remains around an event, object or decision. Through a triadic architecture of Concepts, Observables and Methods of measurement (COMs), the Centre develops and tests explainable measures of the value–valuation continuum to identify transitions, divergences and errors, inform decisions, and reduce risk across physical, digital and living environments.

Real estate and territories provide the first empirical laboratory for this approach, with progressive applications to digital environments, cognition, health, art and living settings.

Economic, real-estate and territorial value

Land and property value, land–building separation, markets, taxation, urban development, infrastructure, externalities and public action.

Information, cognition and digital environments

Attention, anticipation, information overload, behaviour, platforms, artificial intelligence and the transformation of decision systems.

Health, living environments and decision support

Digital and urban health, prevention, access to services, territorial vulnerabilities, integrated indicators and human-centred decision-making.

Who Creates Land Value?

A first international dialogue series on the creation and sharing of land value is in development. It will examine the contribution of land, buildings, infrastructure, private investment and collective action—and the principles that may guide value capture, compensation and sharing.

The first public online dialogue is provisionally scheduled for 19 November 2026. The final programme and contributors will be announced after confirmation.
